FAQ

Frequently asked

What is N.O.S.E. Notebook?

An AI-powered fragrance curator that learns your scent identity over time and recommends niche, designer, and luxury perfumes with the precision of a master perfumer. It runs on your phone.

When does it launch?

Spring 2026, on iPhone and Android. Join the waitlist for early access — the first wave is limited.

Is it free to use?

Yes. Core features — scanning, library, and weekly recommendations — are free. We may introduce a paid tier later for advanced features, but the essentials will remain free.

How does the AI know what I'll like?

It learns from your library: what you scan, save, rate, and react to. The more you use the app, the sharper your scent profile becomes. Three to five fragrances is enough to start; thirty is enough for nuance.

Is my data private?

Your olfactory profile is yours alone. We never sell your data, never use it for third-party advertising, and your scan images stay on our infrastructure (not on the OpenAI side beyond the moment of analysis). You can export or delete everything any time.

Can it identify vintage or discontinued fragrances?

Often, yes. The vision system reads bottle shape, cap, label, and packaging — so even when text is faded or the formulation is decades old, it can usually identify the original release.

Does it work for niche, designer, and luxury houses equally?

Yes. The catalog spans more than 800 houses, from mainstream designer to small-batch artisan. The recommendation system is intentionally not biased toward popularity — quite the opposite.

How is this different from other fragrance apps?

Most fragrance apps are catalogs with social features. N.O.S.E. Notebook is a system that learns you and writes recommendations the way a perfumer would, with reasoning attached. It's a curator, not a database.
